Stillness and Tranquillity

You don’t need to be a monk

The tribulations of life are ubiquitous and constant, making it challenging to find peace or take an opportunity to step away from them.

The mind is the greatest strength, and yet it’s also our ultimate weakness. The mind is capable of beautiful states of existence that remain unchartered for many. We may indulge in arguably meaningless distractions like scrolling through the plethora of social media content, binge-watching series after series or levelling up through immersive computer games. The enormity of the negative impact on the mind and society is overlooked or blissfully ignored.

Stepping away entirely from life’s distractions is an unlikely outcome for most. But it’s not necessary to retreat and become a monk in a cave to rebalance the mind. Instead, develop a consistent daily practice of stillness and mindfulness and see what tranquillity you can discover.
